Will 1st bank even be supporting its small business clients for the 2nd round? Cant seam to get answers from our branch, online or your call center. I have always been so pleased with the service I receive have never had one complaint so imagine how shocked I was to wake up this morning to find I had been blocked out of my online banking. Obviously one of the times I used my card online I was compromised and some crook got my info and every month since has had a hay-day racking up charges.
I only balance my accounts once a month usually so I didnt immediately catch the issue. However, when I did about a week ago I immediately called the bank and reported it.
Week goes by I hear nothing so yesterday morning I called to check on the status and was told 1st Bank has till the 7th of January to make a decision. I'm thinking decide on what, not my charges I didnt make them nor authorize such so what to decide? However, since I've always been most pleased with the bank I said nothing and agreed to the wait. Then this morning I get up try to log into my account and I cant Im blocked. So immediately I call the bank thinking the hacker is now in my online account.
To my surprise I'm told no we closed your account and have been instructed to not reopen any accounts for you. I'm like huh? What of the fraud I filed? How can you close my account when I'm disputing charges and further do so without informing me of such?
I'm told again your account is closed we wont reopen. So I ask for a manager and to my surprise without saying one additional word the lady hangs up the phone on me.
And after I had sat on hold for over 30 minutes waiting to speak to someone to in the first place. I'm truly puzzled and not sure where to take this next. I feel as if I did something wrong by trying to dispute charges that weren't mine and ordering a new debit card.
Sure Ive disputed charges in the past on 2 occasions and never experienced anything like this. I know I shouldn't use my debit card to buy things online cause its easily stolen but sometimes its the most convenient thing to do.
And it seems I'm a target for hackers for sure because of the Dr in front of my name. But wow I never dreamed 1st Bank would do something like this to me or any other customer thats why I chose them over the big banks out there. Where to go now, my attorney? See more.
